Looking Forward to a New Start

Wow, it's been a while since I wrote here.  Of course, second year of pharmacy school is kind of a time to drop off of the map due to the immense amount of studying involved.

So much has happened to me since 2012.  I would take an entire other entry to catch up, and there are a lot of things I just wouldn't want to rehash.  Let's just say that 2013 wasn't exactly my favorite year.  A lot of good things happened, but so did a lot of struggles.  A LOT of struggles.  Of the good things, I got to travel a lot to various conferences, I survived my second year, had a great summer rotation, got accepted into my masters program (I am pursuing a dual-degree Pharm. D. with a Masters in Public Health, but more on that later), was offered a lot of great opportunities (blessing and curse), read/listened to 28 books, and, became a proud, crazy cat lady with my little precious Opali (O-pa-lee).
That was when I first got her at 7 weeks; she's now a grown young kitty about to turn 9 months old!  I love telling the story of how I met her and got her name, but again, that will have to go to another post.

I am seeing 2014 as a year of change, of a new start.  Life has been chaotic, hectic, and overwhelming, and I feel like I've lost sight of what I am moving toward and who I am.  So, I want to start writing on this blog again, trying to do one entry a week.  The biggest thing I want to focus on is my personal health revolution.  For too long have I been overweight and growing.  I want that to change this year.

I'm not expecting anyone to read this, but just the idea of putting my goals, triumphs, and struggles out there makes me feel like I've got accountability buddies watching me.

Topics I would like to expand on:
The marathon and fitness goals
Opali
Career goals
